They get a real kick out of supporting exceptional farmers through Direct Fair Trade relationships with producers of incredibly unique coffee’s around the world. For specialty grade coffee quality, it is important to be able to show the traceability of the coffee right back to the origin/country, region/co-op, or estate and to be able to speak to the various processing methods used. They then go to work artisan roasting in small batches, to perfection by their expert coffee roasters.

The vineyard at Maelstrom Winery boasts over 8 acres of grape vines – Vitis vinifera and hybrid varietals. The winery is nestled in the crook of land between the south Maitland river and the Bayfield river. Huron County’s cold climate and clay loam soils are very favourable for adding complexity, balance and intensity to wine. There is a commonly held belief among wine lovers that the more delicate wines that demonstrate a terroir-effect are grown in cool wine regions such as Germany, Burgundy, Austria and now, perhaps Huron County!
